Well-Read Black Girl Meet and Greet
The Well-Read Black Girl book club is coming to Quail Ridge Books!
Come by on Saturday, July 20th, for a meet-and-greet from 11 a.m. to noon, to find out what our newest book club is all about, enjoy some refreshments, and meet our facilitator, Ciera Williams.
The Well-Read Black Girl (WRBG) book club is focused on amplifying diverse voices and supporting emerging writers of color. While WRBG is centered on Black women writers, we encourage readers who identify as genderqueer, non-binary, or others who feel inspired by what we’re doing to join us and be a part of our community.
Our first book discussion will be on August 7th at 7 p.m. to discuss The Mothers by Brit Bennett. "America needs more books like The Mothers, which quietly, but critically, deepens our appreciation of the black experience, and expands our collective understanding of what it means now to be growing up and grasping for direction and affection." -O Magazine.
Regular meetings will be the first Wednesday of each month. Please join us!
