Redbud Workshop: Deep-Dive Into Personal Essays and Features

Taught by Redbud professor and author/freelance writer Rachel Simon, this six-week course will spend the first half focusing on the intimate and compelling world of personal essays—diving through memories, honing your narrative voice, crafting powerful and thought-provoking pieces. In the second half, we'll move onto features, discussing timely and essential topics like finding angles, building structure, and interviewing sources. The course will also discuss marketing and selling both essays and features, and will feature writing exercises, Q&As, and more.

Cost: $349 for new students, $319 for returning students

If you choose one of these prices, the extra $25, $50, or $100 will go towards scholarships for students who would not be able to afford our classes otherwise. Thank you in advance for considering making a contribution to inclusivity and access!

Per CDC guidelines, students will be asked to wear masks during class. We are also requiring all students who attend in-person classes to be vaccinated. Thank you in advance for understanding!
