Lyndsay Ely - 'Gunslinger Girl'
Seventeen-year-old Serendipity "Pity" Jones inherited two things from her mother: a pair of six shooters and perfect aim. Lyndsay Ely presents Gunslinger Girl, a thrilling dystopian Western starring a teenage sharpshooter to rival Annie Oakley. This book is the January Signed First Edition Club pick, a Teen Advisory Board pick, the January Forever Young: YA for Adults Book Club pick, and a staff favorite. AKA we like it... a lot. Don’t miss the mark by overlooking this debut novel. We recommend this book for ages 14+.
"Debut author Ely brings to life a gritty future American West... a little Into the Badlands, a little Firefly, a whole lot to say about how right and wrong so often borrow from each other."―Kirkus
While the author event itself will be great, as a special treat, 10 lucky people are able attend a pre-event dinner with the author! Here are the details:
COST (book + dinner, the event itself is free): $30
EVENT: Receive a copy of Gunslinger Girl, priority seating at the 7pm event, and have dinner with the author at Aladdin's Eatery at 5pm, right around the corner from Quail Ridge Books [dinner includes family-style appetizers for the table, your choice of a pita roll sandwich (vegetarian options available), and a piece of baklava].
TO PARTICIPATE: Email Broche at email@example.com and include how many would like to attend the dinner. Please include a phone number so we can reach you for prepayment. She is happy to answer any questions you may have about the event.
NOTE: As usual, the author event itself is free to attend, books may be ordered without going to the dinner ($17.99+tax), and if you cannot attend the author event, we can always get a pre-purchased book signed for you by the author.
