Q&A with North Carolina YA and Middle Grade authors Kati Gardner and Kwame Mbalia

Join us for a Q&A with local authors!

Due to illness, the previously listed Brenda Rufener will unfortunately not be attending this event.

Kati is the author of Brave Enough. Spoiler alert: No one with cancer dies in this story. They do play Uno, shave their head, get stabbed, make new friends, enjoy glitter, attend camp, get kissed (!), and above all else, discover they are brave enough to continue living life.

Kwame is the author of the upcoming middle grade fantasy Tristan Strong Punches A Hole In The Sky. A seventh-grade boy accidentally creates a hole into the Midpass, a world where ancient African gods clash with gods of African-American legend. He must race to find Anansi, the Weaver, and repair the rip before the iron monsters wreaking havoc in the Midpass consume their world and ours.
