Stephen Hough - 'Rough Ideas: Reflections on Music and More'
An illuminating and absorbing introduction to the life and mind of one of the world's leading pianists, who has won global acclaim and numerous awards, both for his concerts and recordings.
Hough writes informally and engagingly about music and the life of a musician, from the broader aspects of what it is to walk out onto a stage and make a recording, to specialist tips from deep inside the practice room. He also writes vividly about people he’s known, places he’s traveled to, books he’s read, and paintings he’s seen. He shares his thoughts on a broad range of topics.
Hough will be performing with the NC Symphony on 1/24-25. For this event, he will be in conversation with Grant Llewellyn.
Co-sponsored by WCPE-FM The Classical Station.
