This is a craft and workshop hybrid class for students who are interested in learning more about writing novels. Discussions will include short story pacing versus novel pacing; identifying whether an idea is better suited for a novel or a short story; coming up with ideas for novels; the essential elements of a novel; outlining novels; and more.

This is a craft and workshop hybrid class for students who are interested in learning more about writing novels. Discussions will include short story pacing versus novel pacing; identifying whether an idea is better suited for a novel or a short story; coming up with ideas for novels; the essential elements of a novel; outlining novels; and more.

In this six-week version of Rachel Simon’s popular Creative Nonfiction class, students will have the opportunity to try their hand at a variety of different types of creative nonfiction. In this class, you'll get a thorough overview of each unique form, learning how to write persuasive op-eds, moving personal essays, compelling reviews and so much more.
