Summer BIRDS (Children's) (2017 registration has begun)

What are B.I.R.D.S.? Why, Beautiful Independent Readers Developing Soon!  Each summer, we hold a B.I.R.D.S. program for ages 5-7.  Sessions for 2017 will run on Thursday nights, from July 13 - August 10, from 6-7 pm. Note the earlier start time from previous years.  Registration for our 2017 program began April 29.

Children do not have to be able to read the books on their own.  Someone can read to them.  They just need to be familiar with the stories by B.I.R.D.S. night. Before signing up, parents may want to check the levels of the books for appropriateness. Details are still being set up - we often have special guests, and we always wrap-up with a party and reading certificates the last week.

July 13:   ROBOT = Ride, Otto, Ride! (Simon Spotlight $3.99)

July 20:  ELECTRICITY = Thomas Edison and His Bright Idea (Penguin $3.99)
We welcome a special guest in Week 2: author and science educator Melissa Rooney with her Eddie the Electron books.
