Katie Wyatt & Friends
What's KidZNotes? It's a program that provides free instruments and
instruction in classical music for underprivileged children. It also
provides opportunities for them to play in a symphony-style orchestra.
KidZNotes is modeled on El Sistema, a huge success in other countries.
Executive Director Katie Wyatt, an accomplished violinist, will share stories and videos
from
her time in Venezuela. She will be joined
in
performance by KidZNotes community partners Ari Picker of the
band
Lost in the Trees, Bonnie Thron, principal cello of the N.C.
Symphony, and Scott Laird from the N.C. School for Science and Math.
