WILLIAM HENRY CURRY - On NC Symphony's Freedom

He's always fascinating, so we know you're in for a treat.  Associate Director of the NC Symphony William Henry Curry joins us to preview the NC Symphony's multidisciplinary program "Freedom," examining the Civil War, the Lincoln Presidency, and the Civil Rights Movement through photos and music.  The program is co-sponsored by WCPE, the Classical Station.

“I will discuss the content of the NCS "Freedom" concerts with a special emphasis on the eloquent words of Abraham Lincoln and the patriotism of America's visionary musical genius Charles Ives,” Maestro Curry said.  “I will also offer my personal reflection as an African-American on the meaning of the Emancipation Proclamation.”
