SARAH HICKS - NC Symphony On Hungary

NC Symphony Associate Conductor Sarah Hicks will be our guide for a tour of the music of Hungary.

Hicks has travelled the world, most recently as the conductor of Sting’s orchestra during his Symphonicities Tour last summer. For three days this January she helps to transport Triangle concertgoers to one exotic locale in particular in the Symphony’s “Passport to Hungary” concert program. Join this fast-rising star, part of a “a new wave of female conductors” (NY Times), as she talks about this exciting performance, built on a national music tradition that gave us Franz Liszt, Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály and inspired countless composers the world over.
