Jennifer Ritterhouse - 'Discovering the South' (N&O Editor's Story)

Jonathan Daniels, editor of the News and Observer, truly took the term 'roving reporter' to heart.  Join us Monday, June 5, at 7 pm when historian Jennifer Ritterhouse presents Discovering the South: One Man's Travels through a Changing America in the 1930s.  Daniels explored the Depression-era South, driving thousands of miles, documenting what he found. It was truly a time of social change and unrest, a mix of poverty, New Deal optimism, burgeoning civil rights, and racism.  From planters, to workers, to Margaret Mitchell, he got the stories.
