Kit Noonan's life is going nowhere much to the chagrin of his wife, so he embarks on a journey stretching from backwoods Vermont to the tip of Cape Cod that will change the destinies of family members known and unknown to him. It is sometimes difficult to find a novel whose characters are so likable yet troubled, but Glass develops this family and its secrets with sensitivity and charm. -Marilyn
