ENCHANTED ADULTS is our in-store book club for adults who love children's books. All meetings take place on the fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Sessions are approved for continuing education standard credit by WCPSS. [This group does not meet during the summer.] The .pdf file shown below lists the year's programs, if you'd like to print a copy for reference.

The group takes June and July off.

TUESDAY, February 28 @ 7 p.m.
The group looks at books by Sharon Draper.

TUESDAY, March 27 @ 7 p.m.
We dive into non-fiction with Deborah Heligman's Charles and Emma.

TUESDAY, April 24 @ 7 p.m.
The group discusses the books of Helen Frost.

TUESDAY, May 22 @ 7 p.m.
The book is Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos - the Newbery Medal winner announced in early 2012.

Maira Kalman's fabulous, expressive illustrations deepen the emotional impact of the story. I loved this book. Min Green is an original character with a memorable voice that resonates beyond the story. (Note: Handler is aka Lemony Snicket; Maira Kalman illustrates for The New Yorker. This book is for young adults--it is not a children's book.)

This is the first of a series recently translated from Danish. Well-written and believable, with flawed but appealing characters, the next novel will be eagerly anticipated.
