Children's Book Clubs
We invite your book clubs to meet at our store. We can provide suggestions for reading, if needed. We will reserve a space and have it ready for you according to your meeting schedule. Just let us know. And remember our 21% discount for book club orders that are picked up in one transaction.

Middle School Girls' Book Club
A new Middle School Girls' Book Club has begun. The group is meeting at our store and is open to the public. Their next selection is Wendy Wunder's The Probability of Miracles. They'll meet at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 10. Ages 11+. Members of the book club receive 21% discount on club selections.
Teen Writing Group
The QRB Teen Writing Group is continuing with a moderator. The group is recommended for ages 14 and up, due to the maturity of some themes. It consists of high school teens who write stories on varying themes. The group meets every two weeks on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. to read their stories to the group for feedback. There is at least one collaborative storyline, where each member contributes writing for one or more characters.
The group is resuming meeting. Meetings are twice a month on Wednesdays:
- May 29
- June 12
- June 26
- July 10
- July 24
- August 7
- August 21 and every 2 weeks thereafter! They have their year planned!
If there is an author event on our main floor, the group will be set up in the back section of our store.
Our very popular summer reading club for young readers ages 5-7 runs July-August. B.I.R.D.S. stands for Beautiful Independent Readers Developing Soon. Each summer's program has a theme. We've traditionally met on Tuesdays from 7—8 p.m., for five weeks. Our own Ms. Linda runs the show, so you know it’s a grand time. Watch for our special guests, too! And, of course, there’s the wrap-up party, and awarding of reading certificates! Children should either have read that week's book OR had it read to them BEFORE each session.
The theme for this year's B.I.R.D.S. program is "Over In The Meadow, In The Swamp Or The Pond." Registration begins May 14; space is limited. Registration is required. There is a registration fee of $20/child, with additional siblings at 1/2 price. Those participating in the club receive a 21% discount on the books used in the program. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays, July 9 - August 6, from 7-8 p.m.
See the calendar attached below for information on the book selections and special guests! B.I.R.D.S. is always a blast.
