Book Clubs For Kids & Teens
Our "Book Clubs" button at the top of the page lists all our separate book clubs' selections and schedules. Here's a synopsis of our main club activities for younger readers.
Children's Book Clubs
We invite your book clubs to meet at our store. We can provide suggestions for reading, if needed. We will reserve a space and have it ready for you according to your meeting schedule. Just let us know. And remember our 21% discount for book club orders that are picked up in one transaction.
Teen Writing Group
The QRB Teen Writing Group is continuing with a moderator. The group is recommended for ages 14 and up, due to the maturity of some themes. It consists of high school teens who write stories on varying themes. The group meets every two weeks on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. to read their stories to the group for feedback. There is at least one collaborative storyline, where each member contributes writing for one or more characters.
The group is resuming meeting. Meetings are twice a month on Wednesdays:
- January 25
- February 8
- February 22
- March 7
- March 21
- April 4
- April 18
- May 2
- May 16
- May 30 (and every 2 weeks thereafter! They have their year planned!
If there is an author event on our main floor, the group will be set up in the back section of our store.
Summer B.I.R.D.S.
Our very popular summer reading club for young readers ages 5-7 runs July-August. B.I.R.D.S. stands for Beautiful Independent Readers Developing Soon. Each summer's program has a theme. We've traditionally met on Tuesdays from 7—8 p.m., for five weeks. Our own Ms. Linda runs the show, so you know it’s a grand time. Watch for our special guests, too! And, of course, there’s the wrap-up party, and awarding of reading certificates!
