Bill Leslie

Is there anything Bill Leslie can’t do? You may know him best as WRAL news anchor, with over 30 years of broadcast experience. Bill is the only two-time Peabody Award winner (the top award in broadcasting) from North Carolina, as well as a five-time Emmy winner. But he’s also the talented composer and performer of Celtic music. In fact, he’s been praised by no less than famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma as "one of the greats in modern Celtic Music."

We hope you’ve been able to be here when Bill’s performed music from his music CDs.   His newest CD is SIMPLE  BEAUTY.  He’s also author of BLUE RIDGE REUNION, illustrated with water colors by his father.

Born in Morganton, N.C., Bill graduated from UNC-CH. His roots in N.C. go deep; he can claim a distant relation to Pres. Andrew Jackson.
